The name Prairie View Farm has quite a history itself. My family home was built in 1867. At the same time, several barns were built to accommodate horses and other livestock. In 1917, a magnificent and modern dairy barn was built and so became Prairie View Farm. In 1948, my mother, father and I came to live at the farm.
The first picture is of my friends and I riding one of my ponies. Danny was a beautiful pinto Welsh cross. The middle picture is my dear friend for life, a quarter horse named Flash. Flash passed away in 1967. In 1972, my daughter Elly was born and soon shared my passion for horses. The last picture is of her at the young age of five riding our pal Sundae.
My husband, Mike, made the "mistake" of taking us to the AMHR National Show held in Columbus in 1989. After our visit, Elly and I fell head over heels for little horses. Soon, three mares and a stallion lived in the magnificent dairy barn. The following year, our first foal arrived...and the adventure continues today!
While Elly and I share the responsibility of breeding, foaling and showing our miniatures, Mike maintains and supports our farm; in fact, in 1998 he built my dream barn! The entire family shares and treasures the "big" love of all the "little" horses.
